50 Years of Dedicated Service

Through compassion, empathy and a deep devotion to helping others, we have helped shape the communities of Lancaster county. Our prevention, treatment and recovery services are built to help not only those in need, but to stop the use of substances before it becomes a problem. You’ll find us at local events, schools, and at community centers reaching out to others to educate and prevent substance use disorder, as well as in the trenches with our clients as they work through treatment and recovery.

Counseling Services of Lancaster has been a staple of Lancaster county for 50 years, and in that time, we’ve helped thousands of people with substance use disorder reclaim their lives.

Moreover, Counseling Services adheres too and is governed by very strict federal confidentiality laws regarding drug and alcohol rehab treatment.

  • The impact of addiction on the workplace varies with each person. Concerns about lost income and missing work are valid concerns that we want to help you address. Counseling Services works with employers and employees to limit the impact of treatment on employment and the workplace.  In most cases, careers and professional employer-employee relationships are saved and even enhanced because of treatment.

  • Staff at Counseling Services is comprised of experienced professionals who hold licenses in substance abuse counseling or the professional discipline they represent, such as counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, and more. Our programs are also licensed by the states in which they are located. All of Counseling Services’ programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities CARF.

  • We have a team of admissions staff available to take your phone call. Admissions can be reached at 803-285-6911 and is available during normal operating business hours. We can answer any questions you have and if you or your loved one is ready for treatment, will begin the process by scheduling an assessment with one of our clinicians or if appropriate will provide referrals to make sure we get you the help you need. Contact us today to get the process started.

  • CSL does not provide inpatient treatment, but we have trusted partners we refer out to. Withdrawal from alcohol and most drugs can possibly require a full-time, in-house commitment. After detox, it depends on a variety of factors. Spending several weeks in a full-time treatment facility is the ideal way to “jump start” the recovery process by gaining vital tools to remain sober.  An appropriate treatment recommendation will be made by the client’s counselor.
